Francis II., Duke of Mantua and Reggio. 1660— 1694. In 1688, purchased a Collection of Drawings, of which F. Stringa was Curator. About 1796, the Chevalier Jean- Baptiste Wicar (1762 — 1834), aided by General Brusca, seized and conveyed almost all the Collection to the Louvre. Of these, one Drawing only was returned in 1815. The few remaining were transferred to the “ Accademia delle Belle Arti,” Modena.
